Plasterboard profiles: CD, UD, CW, UW, UA — how to choose
In short: for walls use CW (studs) + UW (tracks); for suspended ceilings use CD 60/27 (load-bearing) + UD 28/27 (perimeter) + hangers and connectors; for door openings use UA (reinforcing).
Comparison table
| Profile | Role | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|
| CD 60/27 | Load-bearing profile | Suspended ceiling frames |
| UD 28/27 | Perimeter / guide | Perimeter of ceilings and walls |
| CW | Vertical stud | Partition walls (60 cm spacing) |
| UW | Guide track | Walls — top and bottom |
| UA | Reinforcing profile | Door and window openings (thick steel) |
For partition walls
Fit the UW tracks on floor and ceiling, then insert the CW studs vertically, usually at 60 cm (or 40 cm for higher loads or double boarding).
For suspended ceilings
Use CD 60/27 as the load-bearing profile, UD 28/27 around the perimeter, suspended on hangers/rods and joined with CRAB connectors.
Door openings
For doors and windows use the UA profile, made of thick steel (2 mm), for rigidity.
Which variants exist
Profiles come in variants by steel thickness and rigidity (Euro, Gold, Giramondo). Giramondo is our own production, from 0.60 mm galvanized steel, more rigid.
