Which profiles are used for plasterboard partition walls?

Partition walls use CW profiles (vertical studs) and UW profiles (guide tracks, top and bottom). Studs are usually spaced 60 cm apart.

Which profiles are used for a suspended plasterboard ceiling?

Suspended ceilings use CD 60/27 profiles (load-bearing) and UD 28/27 profiles (perimeter), together with suspension hangers/rods and CRAB connectors.

What is the difference between CD, UD, CW, UW and UA profiles?

CD 60/27 and UD 28/27 are for ceilings (CD load-bearing, UD perimeter). CW and UW are for walls (CW stud, UW track). UA is a thicker reinforcing profile for door and window openings.

How many profiles and plasterboard sheets do I need?

Which plasterboard thickness should I choose?

Walls usually use 12.5 mm boards, ceilings 9.5 or 12.5 mm. For bathrooms and kitchens choose moisture-resistant boards (green).

What spacing is used for studs and profiles?

Studs (CW) and load-bearing profiles are usually mounted at 60 cm; for walls with higher loads or double boarding, at 40 cm.

The variants differ in steel thickness and rigidity. Giramondo is our own production, made of 0.60 mm galvanized steel, more rigid.
